The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program strives to provide every student with a wide range of University resources and student services, allowing them to successfully meet their academic and career goals. Resources offered include University Assistance offices, academic support resources, and professional information. Academic Support Resources

The George Washington University (GW) Division of Student Affairs enhances the experiences of GW students by providing programs and services that focus on academic success; student engagement; and professional development. The following offices support the academic and career success of students:

Library and Technology Resources

Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library
As a student within the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, your home library is the Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library. The Himmelfarb Library is a tremendous resource for a variety of reference materials and research tools. Visit the links below to access some of these resources:

The Division of Information Technology

The Division of Information Technology provides information and support to all GW students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call (202) 994-GWIT (4948) or email ithelp@gwu.edu.

Additionally, you have access to the university’s main library, the Estelle and Melvin Gelman Library and its services.

Financial and Administrative Services

Student Services Hub
GW Student Services Hub, located on the ground floor of the Cloyd Heck University Student Center, is the centralized service center for University student services. financial Services counselors are cross-trained to assist you with your financial aid and billing questions. Office of Military and Veteran Student Services
We understand that our military and veteran students bring unique skills and experiences to GW. Along with those skills and experiences, military students may have some unique needs. The Office of Military and Veteran Student Services offers a range of services and information including a helpful checklist, Yellow Ribbon Program procedures, the certification process, and a student services center all designed to help you meet those challenges and achieve your academic goals.

International Services Office (ISO)
The International Services Office (ISO) provides essential services and programs for international students, researchers, faculty, short-term visitors, and their families to help them achieve their personal and professional goals during their stay at GW. Service offerings include, but are not limited to:

  • Orientation for international students
  • Advising on immigration, academic, social, and personal concerns
  • Visa and immigration services
  • Employment and tax workshops
Student Health and Wellness Services

GW Health Center
Colonial Health Center, located on the ground floor of the Cloyd Heck University Student Center offers confidential health and counseling services to support the medical and mental health needs of students, as well as promotion and prevention services to support students in maintaining healthy lifestyles. Fitness Facilities
The 183,000 square-foot Lerner Health and Wellness Center (LHWC) offers fitness and recreational opportunities for all GW students on the Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses, and faculty and staff who are LHWC members. Facilities and activities include:

  • Intramural sports facilities
  • Free weight, wellness, and cardiovascular fitness areas
  • Multipurpose room used for aerobics, dance, martial arts, and other functions
  • Nutrition counseling, personal training, and fitness programs
Student Life and Engagement Resources

The GW Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities enhances the experiences of GW students by providing programs and services that support student engagement and support the needs of all students across the academic lifespan, connecting students to opportunities for leadership development. The Multicultural Student Services Center provides leadership to the university community through diversity training, cultural programs, multicultural resources, student access, and communications. MSSC programs focus on cultural education, student retention, academic achievement, and the growth of a campus community that honors inclusion, civility, and the development of cross-cultural awareness. MSSC resources include:
